Choosing a Stone Bench for your Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of your home and it is where you will do most of your entertaining. Most builders, including ANSA Homes will start you off with 20mm stone. You do have the opportunity to upgrade your stone when we meet to discuss all the details about your kitchen.

40mm stone gives you a look and feel of value and class -that is one thing that you will always need to remember.

Most people don’t realise that all stone benchtops are 20mm thick except for at the edges. Please don’t be dazzled by brand names – they can unnecessarily add cost without adding value to your home.

Another consideration is the length of your stone slab. Some people like me don’t like joins in a stone slab and where I can avoid them I will. The length of a stone slab varies from supplier to supplier and we choose to go with smart stone who produce a stone slab at 3.2m long and 1.6m wide. This minimizes joins in most stone benchtops most of the time.

These are just some of the questions that we are often asked regarding stone slabs in the kitchen.
